In a local comparison Bell H.S. came first with an overall score of 6.5/10 (289th out of 676 Ontario high schools).




Franco-Ouest had the top Bells Corners ranking last year.

St. Paul’s test scores are down too.

Problematic standardized tests in math and English only scratch the surface when evaluating schools.

Citizen: Family background plays a role, since children whose parents have a high income tend to do better academically. That alone could account for about 20 to 30 per cent of the difference in scores.

Some schools have a higher percentage of students with special needs or who don’t speak English or French.
