Vocal parents in an uproar over the watering down of Early French Immersion (EFI) have successfully lobbied the board.

The new proposal for next fall include two years of bilingual kindergarten for all students and math will now be taught in English rather then French in EFI.

Fewer jobs for anglophone teachers and teachers’ assistants (ECEs) at a time when there’s a shortage of qualified francophones to replace them.

Trustees debate the issue at a meeting Feb. 2.
