no freedom of speech for police?

The Bells Corners Hoopla and the Westcliffe Fun Day have been cancelled this year and nothing is planned for Canada Day in Bells Corners, but there’s LOTS of fun if you follow Robertson/Richmond Rd. to Westboro for the BIA Fuse.

Can you imagine banning cars and trucks on the Bells Corners strip for a festival? A free bike-taxi as the rapidest transit?

The NDP won but Ms. Medahar did way better than expected, doubling Liberal support in a nationalist riding in Thomas Mulcair’s part of Montreal.

A fish rots from the head down? It’s pretty clear what the rank-and-file feel about Chief Bordeleau’s attempts to discipline gutsy Const. Paul Heffler for writing a letter to the Ottawa Sun.

The top cop and Councillor Eli El-Chantiry have their own problems. They don’t like being criticized but don’t ordinary police officers have ANY freedom of speech?

One Response to no freedom of speech for police?

  1. doublestandard says:

Hey there I was on your site the other day reading your piece on Const. Paul Heffler’s letter to the editor. Did you see this recent piece on Eli El-Chantiry?

    – It’s not a smoking gun but it does make Coun. El-Chantiry look bad. His excuse that maybe a staff member befriended the killer seems a bit lame.
    eli
There shouldn’t be a double standard favouring powerful politicians and the police brass at the expense of front line officers and the long-suffering taxpayer. I’m not surprised that the police union is calling for El-Chantiry to resign. Another reason he should resign.
