Liquid Gym employees do the ice-bucket thing.
Tourists at the Bells Corners McDo – the couple on the left are from Hungary and the other guy is from Kazakhstan.
The Hungarian tourists had a great time practising their English with the friendly locals at Local Heroes.
They LOVED their visit to Bells Corners, especially touring leafy Lynwood Village and biking the Greenbelt trails in Stony Swamp.
“Wow! It’s SO different from Budapest!” they exclaimed, riding off into the sunset on their way to the Gatineau Park.
Meanwhile Rick was busy campaigning with tax dollars. Not much of a crowd in spite of an intensive taxpayer-funded door-to-door effort to get local residents out to watch WECA Bill and Rick try to take credit for Dragonfly Park.
There’s ALWAYS “free” food and drink when the councillor’s politicking. I noticed Rick had added another member to his “team” – a guy hoping to replace Pam FitzGerald as OCDSB trustee by cozying up to Rick.
He’s unlikely to win.
Here he is discussing strategy with Rick and some people from the Catholic Church at another of the councillor’s shady campaign events.
Here he’s taking a photo for Rick’s Twitter feed.
Rick had to share the limelight with a top-ranking bureaucrat from the OCDSB.
The Woods is a great local band willing to play at community events.
Catholic church volunteers did the hotdogs – much tastier than the stale chickendogs that Team Rick usually grills up at campaign events.
The crowd was there to honour Barry Donoghue, not a deceitful career politician like Rick.
These frisky oldtimers came all the way from Thorncliffe Place with their walkers.
The hot dogs were gone by the time they arrived but they didn’t mind.
Lida looked sad – maybe she’s sick of it all.
Maybe she’s sorry for all the dirty tricks.
Tony Graham Nissan is no more – a new Myers sign will be going up soon and then the Nissan dealership will be leaving for Kanata in a year or two. It might be hard to rent out that space when they leave.
Too bad the Mongolian Village is being forced to relocate – here’s their new space.
New sign but same old Cock/Bull?
Or will it be rebranded as something else?
A sunflower and a nice garden and bench at the Kimberly Apartments – too bad about the ash trees.
Looks like there’s no legal way to bike or walk from Donoghue Memorial Park to the Bruce Pit and the bike paths leaving Bells Corners after 22h30 – you’d have to trespass on Bell HS property.
The Urban Tandoor (where Haveli’s used to be) is very popular.
Curious that Rick snubbed the Urban Tandoor in his campaign literature.
This woman was just out for a stroll along the strip.
There are fast food jobs all over the place in Bells Corners if that’s what you want.
These guys are thinking of applying.
Maybe they should go into politics instead like me – here are my election promises.
You can also vote for me here.
Hoot! Hoot! I won last time – hoping to make it two victories in a row!
