fun & games weekend

This gent is sad that “Radio Shack” is no more – he’s been shopping there for 39 years! His favourite car dealer, Myers Volkswagen, is also fleeing Bells Corners for Kanata.
Here’s something to cheer him up:
Have you heard about it?

Thanks to generous corporate and political sponsors, City grants, and profits from renting out the community building, the WECA offers its Fun Day FREE (although they will be charging a dollar for a pop or a hot dog, and you might be asked to pay the $10 WECA tax).
Leaving your bike unlocked can be risky. Will the Rexall be getting a new bike rack after what happened to the last one?
A public consultation about this area will be held Thurs., Apr. 18, 2013, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Kanata Recreation Complex, 100 Walter Baker Place.
Family members gathered today to remember someone they miss a lot.
The piled-up snow had wrecked the old cross so they installed the new one and held a short ceremony.
A guy from Stittsville was filling up in Bells Corners before driving down to Florida for the first race of the season.
His hydroplane is VERY FAST, so accidents are frequent and spectacular, but so so are the rewards of the lifestyle.
Our hospital got a B grade.
Three businesses are getting new roofs this week: Canadian Tire, Dan’s and Local Heroes.
Cyclists and pedestrians love this spot.
Not sure what this is.
This ragged flag has been flapping for weeks in the Nepean Plaza.

Been a longtime business owner in Bell’s Corners.. going on 15 years.

It is sad to see so many businesses leaving as of late. Bell’s Corners is becoming a very unattractive place for a business owner to be. Sad state of affairs. 😦

Love the blog, keep it up.

This is happening all over Ontario, not just in Bells Corners.

    – It’s more severe here – for a good part of 2012 we had the highest vacancy rate in the City. And 2013 is off to a bad start with the Zellers likely to remain empty a l-o-n-g time.

Rick will have some little goodie to announce prior to the 2014 elections, so at least we have that to look forward to.

  3. Tracey says:

Every April 16 we will put Sean’s cross up and take it down on Nov. 16th. This past winter part of the cross broke (the part that goes in the ground) from the snowplow, I’m guessing.

It’s good for the kids to do something positive and fun for their dad and to remember him. We do balloons and all take part in putting up the cross. Sean passed away on Feb. 16, 2012. R.I.P XO

    – It’s a reminder to us all that life is precious and short. Everything can change in a second if we’re not careful, especially when we’re driving. So let’s be careful out there!
