There’s no shortage of Hab fans in Bells Corners. This guy was pumped for last night’s game.
The Bruins are popular too, especially at Local Heroes, voted last year as the best place to watch a hockey game in Bells Corners.
The councillor goes for the Bruins because of his shady Family connections. He celebrated the Bruins cup victory with members of the BIA brass.
The Hawks are popular in Bells Corners too.
Other teams too.
These professional politicians AREN’T popular in Bells Corners. They’re about to spend 90,000,000 tax dollars to hold a crooked first-past-the-post election because they squabble worse than preschoolers and can’t work together for the good of the province.
Politicians tend to be nasty people, no matter how the backroom boys dress them up.
The outcome in Bells Corners is a foregone conclusion – we’re just a small chunk of a conservative rural riding, so Lisa will continue to ride herd on us.
A more interesting battle is next door: old warhorse Bob Chiarelli vs. sharp-tongued upstart Randall Denley.
Who do YOU like for premier of Ontario?
Hudak has some influential supporters in Bells Corners, including Rick Chiarelli booster Alex Lewis, BIA chair Jim from Electrical and Plumbing, WECA president-for-life Bill Quinn and other local bigwigs.

CORRECTION – I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions by calling the incident a “drug bust” – I’ve been told be a VERY reliable source that the police action was based on anonymous tips from people with an axe to grind. It’s SO unfair to try and convict someone on social media when you don’t have all the facts.
Harper breaking bad – the “turquoise house” had been “outed” as a Breaking Bad crystal meth lab in this sly groundbreaking smartass video but that was SATIRE, and I’m sure that the guys never thought for a second that anyone could take the Youtube seriously.
That was my grandparents’ home they bought when built in 1962! Then it was mine. Just sold it less than two years ago. We loved and were loved in the neighbourhood. I LOVED my turquoise house! Idiots who tarnished its memory like that 😦
you had long tarnished its name alreadyetc.See the about page for blog rules (“I’ll edit for typos, spelling, grammar, brevity, clarity and also for anything that goes beyond snarky into rude.”).
It’s NOT FAIR to try and convict someone on social media – that should be left to the courts.
When the police show up in force you can’t jump to the conclusion that the person is guilty – especially if they’ve received anonymous tips from disgruntled neighbours or someone with an axe to grind.
I once had two heavily-armed officers roust me out of bed because of an anonymous complaint, probably phoned in by somebody from WECA, LVCA or even Rick himself, that I was running an illegal bike-taxi business, patrolling BC parks in order to “exploit the vulnerable sector” as Bill put it.
After I showed the policepersons the bike-taxi they could only scratch their heads, check to see if my papers were in order and my licence up to date, run me through the computer, take a quick ride to verify that the bike-taxi was mechanically safe, and then zoom away to check out the next anonymous complaint. God knows what the neighbours thought as they watched all this!
